Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to convert a decent start into a formidable total in today’s match against Mumbai Indians. At the end of the powerplay, Bangalore managed to score 41 without the loss of any wicket. It was a slow-ish start but with wickets in hand, they had it in them to go all guns blazing at the end. It is something they did a lot in the last season as well.

Chris Gayle’s dismissal brought in AB de Villiers in the middle. de Villiers struggled to score the big hits, especially against Krunal Pandya. After 16 overs, Royal Challengers had scored 116-2. With Virat Kohli back in the pavilion, the onus was on de villiers.

Just when it was the most adequate time for de Villiers to launch the big shots, he fell to both Krunal Pandya and captain of Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma. Such was the quality of catch grabbed by Sharma at covers. It was the third time in as many matches that Krunal Pandya dismissed de Villiers.
