There is no doubt about the fact that the young Indian batsman, Prithvi Shaw is going through a purple patch in his career. Of late, he has been grabbing a lot of eyeballs due to a plethora of reasons. Meanwhile, recently, the youngster was surprised after getting a chance to meet Gundappa Vishwanath, who made his time to meet the youngster. The Mumbai batsman scored a fine century on his international debut as he scored 134 in the first Test match against the Windies.

Prithvi Shaw has had a memorable debut and also adjourned as the man of the match in the first game and also went on to receive the man of the series awards for his scintillating performance in the two-match series. Then he carried the form in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 to help Mumbai to win the title for the first time. 

Viswanath decided to meet the youngster as soon as he came to know that Shaw is in Bangalore. He gave his best wishes to the youngster and also congratulated him for heroics on his debut match. Meanwhile, the 18-year-old prodigy replied that he is delighted to meet with the legendary player of the game. He was all praise for the legend for his brilliant gesture towards him.

As per the reports in TOI, Viswanath said, “When I learned Prithvi was playing in Bengaluru, I decided to meet him. I congratulated the youngster on his fantastic debut and for joining the club. In fact, I told him he was only the second Indian to join the club after 49 years. I wished him luck and told him that this is just the beginning. I hope he goes on to score many more centuries.”

Talking about his meeting with the legend, Prithvi Shaw said, “It was a dream come true to meet GR Viswanath sir, who is a legend of the game.”

However, Shaw has received a brilliant gesture from one of the greats of the game. As Vishwanath termed, hopefully, the youngster would grow from strength to strength to bring laurels to the country.
