The USA, co-hosts of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, have emerged as one of the tournament’s biggest dark horses. Drawn into Group A alongside cricket giants like India, Pakistan, Ireland, and Canada, the USA put in stellar performances to finish second in the group, securing a spot in the Super Eight stage.
In recognition of this significant achievement, the White House extended a congratulatory message. The USA cricket team shared a clip on X (formerly known as Twitter), featuring National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby praising their performance.

In the video, John Kirby expressed his admiration for the team’s success and conveyed both his and President Joe Biden’s happiness over their advancement to the Super Eight.

The match is scheduled to take place at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, on Wednesday, June 19. South African skipper Aiden Markram acknowledged the USA’s impressive performances in the tournament and emphasized the need for his team to be at their best.

“They’ve been really good. I think not just them but a lot of the people will sort of say smaller nations, but they’ve proved that they’re not a small team anymore.
