Having scored back-to-back centuries against Sri Lanka, the Indian captain, Virat Kohli, has equaled Ricky Ponting’s feat of 30 ODI centuries. Kohli is now second on the list of highest number of centuries scored in ODIs.
Talking about Kohli’s present form and his current age, he looks determined to go past Sachin Tendulkar, especially in ODIs. Having said that, he will have to maintain a check on a lot of measures. A lot of things come into the play during the second half of any sports person’s career.
Among a current lot of players, the only batsman who is close to equalling Kohli’s feat is South African, Hashim Amla. The 34-year old batsman has scored 25 centuries in ODIs as of now. What differs the most in Kohli and Amla is their age. Kohli, being the younger of both of them has it in him to play for a longer time than Amla. But, who knows?
