Delhi Capitals (DC) bowling coach Munaf Patel has shared that they will miss their star bowler Mitchell Starc in the upcoming fixture of the IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians (MI). DC are all set to play against MI on Tuesday, May 20 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

However, Mitchell Starc decided not to return to India for the rest of the IPL 2025 season after the tournament was suspended for a week amid the tensions between India and Pakistan as well. Starc was bought for a massive price of Rs 11.75 crore in the mega auction and he has been Delhi’s highest wicket-taker so far with 14 wickets as well.

“It matters a lot because we are missing a fast bowler who can bowl at 145 km/h, swing the ball that too on the surface of Wankhede, where you get good bounce and swing, it obviously makes a huge difference. But when you don’t have an option, you have to go with the resources you have. You can’t sit and worry about what’s not available. Whatever you have, you need to make the most of it and make the guy perform,” said Munaf Patel in the pre-match press conference.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are keeping the environment light in the dressing room despite their poor form in the season, revealed bowling coach Munaf Patel.
“It is very difficult to talk in the dressing room. We discuss the line-up at the hotel. What will you discuss in the dressing room? You win a match, you go to the hotel, you lose a match, you go to the hotel. In the dressing room, if you win, it’s a party, if you lose, it’s a party, what will you discuss there?” Munaf Patel joked ahead of the DC vs MI match. “When we are in the dressing room, our goal is to leave from there as soon as possible. That is our only goal.”
