Wishes pour in as India captain Virat Kohli turns 33

India captain Virat Kohli has turned 33 on Friday, November 5. Kohli, who is currently in the UAE for the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, is celebrating the special day.

Virat Kohli made his debut for India at the very young age of 19 against Sri Lanka in Dambulla and since then, he has been a key member of the team. From winning the U-19 World Cup way back in 2008 to leading Team India with an example – he has come a long way. However, along with this, his fitness level inspires everyone. And, he is loved by millions around the world as well.

However, as the captain Virat Kohli turned a year older, the entire cricketing world started to wish him. Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar wished him. He tweeted: “Many happy returns of the day @imVkohli. Wishing you a wonderful year ahead full of success, happiness and good health.”

Former India opener Virender Sehwag shared a motivational birthday wish for him who is currently going through a rough patch as a captain. “Tough times don’t last long, tough people do. A once in a generation player, wishing @imVkohli a very happy birthday and a great year ahead. #HappyBirthdayViratKohli,” Sehwag tweeted.

Ajinkya Rahane, the vice-captain of India in Test cricket, has also wished the India captain. “Happy Birthday@imVkohli. Wishing you good health and happiness for the coming year,” Rahane has tweeted.

“Happy Birthday,@imVkohli!Thank you for everything that you are to RCB, your teammates and to millions of fans around the world. Stay blessed, King!,” Kohli’s IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore tweeted.

Indian speedster Mohammed Siraj also wished Virat Kohli. He tweeted: “Not everyone is as lucky as me to be blessed with an elder brother like you. Thank you so much for coming into my life and standing by my side through thick and thin. I hope you get all that you truly deserve. Happy Birthday king @imVkohli.”

As far as the game is concerned, Team India has lost to Pakistan and New Zealand in their first two games in the T20 World Cup. However, they have won against Afghanistan. And, Virat Kohli led Team India still has two games to play in the mega event.

While the road to qualification for the semi-final is tough for them, it will be interesting to see what’s in store for them.
