The veteran Indian wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha was seen playing for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Hardik Pandya-led side went on to achieve the IPL title in their inaugural season. Saha contributed hugely to their success in the season. However, he did not participate in the Ranji Trophy season 2022 for his home team, Bengal.
The decision by Saha was criticized heavily by the fans and the board officials of the Cricket Association of Bengal publicly. Wriddhiman Saha did not seem impressed by the open criticism. It is understood that the relationship between the Bengal board and Saha has gone from bad to worse during the course. The wicket-keeper is now thinking of parting ways with the Bengal.

Meanwhile, Wriddhiman Saha has opened up on the same during a recent interaction with Sportstar. He acknowledged that it is disappointing to stand where things are standing at the moment. He confessed that things need to move on. Saha clarified that he has made up his mind (regarding parting ways with Bengal). He will soon be meeting the president of CAB to discuss the same and finalize the formalities regarding the No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Wriddhiman Saha explained, “For me, too, it is a very sad feeling that I have to go through something like this after playing for Bengal for so long. It is disappointing that people make such comments and question your integrity. As a player, I had never faced such a thing in the past, but now that it has happened, I even need to (move on).”

He further added, “Since I had made up my mind that I won’t play for Bengal, I had informed (the Cricket Association of Bengal president Avishek Dalmiya) over the phone. But I will meet him in person and finalize the formalities.”
