India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha, who had been tested positive for global pandemic novel COVID-19 during the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), recently took to Twitter and shared an update about his health. He revealed that his quarantine period is still going on as one of his two mandatory Covid tests has returned positive as well. Notably, he has played for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the recently postponed IPL 2021.

However, he also shared that, he is feeling better now and also urged everyone to not share any wrong information without knowing the truth.

“My quarantine period is still not over. As a part of the routine check up, 2 tests were done, out of which 1 was negative and the other one came as positive. Otherwise, I am doing much better. Requesting everyone not to spread misleading stories/information without the whole context,” Wriddhiman Saha shared in his statement on Twitter.

Notably, Saha has been added to the Indian squad for the upcoming inaugural World Test Championship final against New Zealand and then the five-match Test series against England in the UK as well. However, it is also noteworthy that, while announcing the squad the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also mentioned that Wriddhiman Saha and KL Rahul, who recently had an apprentices surgery, will be available if only they become match fit and also clear the fitness test.

However, Saha had initially tested positive on May 4 prior to the game between SunRisers Hyderabad and the defending champions Mumbai Indians. Notably, on the same day, veteran Delhi Capitals spinner Amit Mishra has also tested positive for the deadly virus which forced the BCCI and the IPL Governing Council to call off the cash-rich league with immediate effect for an indefinite time period. Apart from them, KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrior, CSK’s L Balaji and Mike Hussey were also infected by the virus.
