Indian women’s cricket team head coach WV Raman, former coach Ramesh Powar, ex-India players Ajay Ratra and Hrishikesh Kanitkar have given virtual interviews for the post of head coach. The interview was conducted by Madan Lal-led Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) on Wednesday.
However, out of 35 applications, eight Indian internationals have been shortlisted for interviews, which included four men and four women as well. While the four male candidates were interviewed on Wednesday, the four female candidates Mamtha Maben, Devieka Palshikaar, former chairman of selectors Hemlatha Kala and Suman Sharma will be interviewed on Thursday as well.

“Four interviews were conducted today. All the four candidates came well prepared. The remaining four interviews will be conducted tomorrow,” CAC head Madan Lal told PTI on Wednesday.
Two CAC members — Lal and Sulakshana Naik – were present whereas another member RP Singh couldn’t join as he lost his father on Wednesday. Meanwhile, as per the news, all the four candidates had good interviews which continued for 35 to 45 minutes. While they all gave good presentations, they had discussed the roadmap going into next year’s ODI World Cup as well.

On the other hand, one of the candidates was apparently asked about his idea of bench-strength after some of the legends announce their retirement after the completion of next year’s World Cup as well.
