In a pivotal moment of the ongoing clash between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), Yash Thakur orchestrated a crucial breakthrough by dismissing the formidable Jos Buttler in spectacular fashion. As the Royals commenced their chase of LSG’s imposing total of 196/5, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler initiated the innings on a promising note, swiftly accumulating fifty runs within the first five overs.

With both batsmen settling in, the prospect of completing the powerplay unscathed loomed large for RR. However, Yash Thakur intervened, providing LSG with a much-needed breakthrough by sending Buttler back to the pavilion. It was the fifth delivery of the sixth over when Thakur, unleashing a low full-toss aimed at the pads, outfoxed the England star.

Jos Buttler attempted to flick the ball to the leg side after shuffling across but failed to connect effectively, resulting in the ball crashing into the leg stump. Buttler departed after a brisk 34 off 18 deliveries, comprising four boundaries and one six.

At the juncture of writing, RR stood at 170 for 3 in the 17th over. Following Buttler’s dismissal, RR suffered another setback when Marcus Stoinis fell to LSG’s Marcus Stoinis in the subsequent over. Jaiswal, who had previously clinched a match-winning century, could only muster 24 runs against LSG.

Earlier in the contest, LSG set a formidable target of 196/5 in their allotted 20 overs after being put in to bat first. Despite a shaky start with the early dismissals of Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis, skipper KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda’s resilient half-centuries steered LSG out of trouble, forging a crucial 115-run partnership for the third wicket.
