India’s stunning opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has shown his excitement at playing against in-form Bangladesh in the upcoming two-match Test series as well. And, Jaiswal has evolved a lot in the international setup.

Notably, Jaiswal is India’s highest run-getter in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle. He began his career with a century on his Test debut in the West Indies as well. He has smashed 1028 runs in nine Tests at an average of 68.53, hitting two double centuries so far as well.

Speaking to Jio Cinema at Duleep Trophy, Yashasvi Jaiswal said (via ANI): “I think they’ve been playing well. It’ll be fun to match up with them, it’s fun to play test matches regardless. I’m really looking forward to that.”

“I don’t overthink, I just need to prepare well and keep improving myself as a player. The more I repeat these steps, the better I’ll get. I have worked hard to keep up my form and continue to do so to ensure I maintain it. The more consistent I stay with my practice and preparation; my results will improve,” he added.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is playing for India B in the ongoing Duleep Trophy and he has scored 30 runs off 59 balls with the help of six boundaries against India A. And, Australian ace spinner Nathan Lyon and former Aussie coach John Buchanan recently reacted to his form also.

Buchanan said (via Hindustan Times): “There is a lot of talk about that, is not there? He is an exciting young player, and certainly one to watch, but he would be to me one of those examples. He (Jaiswal) has not played in Australia, or at least he has not played in Perth in a Test match on a wicket that bounces. So, his ability to adjust his game to those conditions in some sense might be a barometer as to how India will go through the series.”

Nathan Lyon spoke of Jaiswal (via The Times of India “I haven’t come across him [Jaiswal] yet, but that will be a massive challenge for all us bowlers. The way he played against England, I watched that quite closely and thought that was quite amazing.”
