Rajasthan Royals batter Yashasvi Jaiswal recently left his 14-year-old teammate, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, in awe during a net practice session ahead of their IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals on April 16. Jaiswal, who has established himself as a top-level T20 batter in the past two years, was seen refining his strokeplay in the nets.

His dazzling array of shots impressed Vaibhav, who could be seen sitting on a green box, mesmerised by his senior’s skilful display. Rajasthan Royals shared the moment on X (formerly Twitter), with the caption, “You are who you surround yourself with.”

Suryavanshi, who has been making headlines for his talent, was previously challenged by England speedster Jofra Archer in the nets. While Vaibhav has shown great promise, Rahul Dravid recently dismissed any speculation about his IPL debut in 2025. During a press conference, Dravid emphasized that the team wanted Suryavanshi to settle in and absorb the environment before taking part in an official match. “It’s part of the process to groom a player,” Dravid said, adding that if an opportunity arises, they won’t hesitate to play him.

Rajasthan Royals had purchased Vaibhav for Rs 1.10 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction, making him the youngest-ever cricketer to be bought at the event. Although his debut seems unlikely this season, given the Royals’ history of backing youngsters, a thrilling debut might be just around the corner for Suryavanshi.
