Yashasvi Jaiswal roared back into form with a brilliant century as India defeated Afghanistan in Chennai in their final ODI of the series. Chasing a modest target of 219, the left-hander grabbed the chance to open the innings and made it count with an unbeaten 110 off 86 balls, guiding India to a comfortable win. With this knock, Jaiswal now has two centuries in his last three innings, strengthening his case in a competitive top-order race behind Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.

Since India had already sealed the series, captain Shubman Gill stepped aside to allow Jaiswal to open, and the move paid rich dividends. Although Jaiswal managed only four runs in the previous game, he looked completely in control this time and formed a match-winning 170-run partnership with Rohit Sharma.

Fittingly, he finished the chase in style by clearing the ropes off Mohammad Nabi to seal the win. Earlier, Afghanistan had struggled badly after choosing to bat first. Prasidh Krishna ripped through their top order with a devastating four-wicket burst, leaving them at 36 for 4.
