Yashasvi Jaiswal may still be in his early twenties, but at Rajasthan Royals, he is already embracing the responsibility of a senior batter—especially when paired with teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The 15-year-old prodigy continues to turn heads in IPL 2026, delivering performances well beyond his age.

In the high-scoring clash against Punjab Kings, Sooryavanshi once again stole the spotlight with a blistering 43 off just 16 balls. His fearless strokeplay at the top laid the foundation for Rajasthan’s successful chase of 223, ending PBKS’ unbeaten run this season. The innings also helped him reclaim the Orange Cap, taking his tally to 400 runs from nine matches.
After the game, Jaiswal handed over the Orange Cap to his young partner but was caught off guard by a question from broadcaster Pommie Mbangwa about being the “older guy” in the partnership.

“I don’t think so I’m older. I’m still very young,” Yashasvi Jaiswal said with a smile. “But of course, the way he is and he’s quite young… I don’t know what to say about it, to be honest.” Despite the light-hearted moment, Jaiswal made it clear how much he values batting alongside Sooryavanshi.

“Of course, it’s amazing. I really enjoyed batting with him,” he said. “He’s playing amazing, and I’m always happy seeing from the other end the way he’s hitting the ball.”
The Royals’ approach was clear from the outset—attack relentlessly on a batting-friendly surface. The openers raced to 51 runs in just 3.1 overs, setting the tone for the chase.
“We knew it’s a high-scoring ground,” Yashasvi Jaiswal explained. “We had to keep the intent and go for our shots whenever possible.” “If the ball was in my range, I was going to hit it.”
