Jaiswal has been included as a standby player in the team, taking Gaikwad’s spot. Gaikwad had informed the BCCI that his wedding was scheduled between June 3 and 4, and he requested permission to enter England by June 5 for the World Test Championship final. However, the team management opted for the successful Jaiswal as his replacement and has asked him to practice with the red ball.

According to the Indian Express, Yashasvi Jaiswal already possesses a visa for England and will soon join the team there. As Gaikwad sought additional time from the BCCI due to his wedding, he was subsequently dropped from the WTC team.

Yashasvi Jaiswal represents the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, where he scored an impressive 625 runs in 14 innings this season. In first-class cricket as well, he has accumulated 404 runs in five matches, boasting an average of 80.
