In a heartwarming moment ahead of the much-awaited India vs Australia ODI series, a young fan’s dream came true when he received Virat Kohli’s autograph in Perth — and his reaction quickly went viral. The boy was seen running around in sheer joy, capturing the kind of emotion that only a meeting with a cricket icon like Kohli can inspire.

With both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma rejoining the Indian squad for the three-match series starting October 19, excitement has reached fever pitch among fans eager to see the legendary duo back in blue. Kohli and Rohit, who are only featuring in the ODI leg of the tour, have become the central focus of India’s preparations in Perth.
During India’s optional net session, fans gathered in large numbers just to catch a glimpse of the two stars. Kohli, returning to international cricket after a break since the Champions Trophy, looked refreshed and determined.

His training began with fielding drills before he shifted to the nets, where he batted for around 40 minutes against a mix of bowlers, including Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and local pacers. Despite a few testing deliveries that bounced sharply, Kohli’s footwork and balance stood out — a clear sign that his timing remains impeccable.

Rohit Sharma, practising in the adjacent net, took a bit longer to find his rhythm. Initially looking scratchy, he soon settled into his trademark flow, connecting cleanly and finishing his session with some elegant drives and pull shots. With Shubman Gill leading the side, Rohit appeared relaxed, soaking in the atmosphere as he shared light moments with teammates.
The overall mood at the WACA Ground was vibrant yet easygoing, unlike India’s tense Test preparation sessions last year. Fans were allowed closer access, with Kohli and Rohit signing autographs, taking selfies, and engaging warmly with supporters.
