Fans appreciated how the former India star, despite his success and stature in Indian cricket, still made time for such a personal gesture.

Beyond cricket, Yusuf Pathan has also made his mark in public life as a politician with the All India Trinamool Congress. He currently serves as a Member of Parliament from the Baharampur Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal. Born in Baroda, Yusuf is also the elder brother of former India cricketer Irfan Pathan, and both brothers remain among the most recognisable names in Indian cricket.

Yusuf first rose to prominence with standout performances in the 2007 Deodhar Trophy, which earned him a place in India’s squad for the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007. He made his international debut in the final against Pakistan, opening the batting in one of Indian cricket’s most iconic matches. His aggressive batting and useful all-round ability soon made him a valuable part of India’s white-ball setup.
