Discarded Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh expressed his desire to play international cricket till World Cup 2019, to be held in England. He last wore Indian jersey in the Caribbean, where his bat failed to produce any musical rhythm.

Yuvi is constantly falling short to pass Yo-Yo test, which, now, is an official requirement to crack into the squad. Moreover, the Indian team, too, is having a great run in the field, which is preventing big changes in the team.

“I have been in and out (of the team) for a long time; what keeps me going is belief in myself, not to give up. There’s a lot of struggle and sacrifice before you get the glory. Since I came back from cancer when you come so long, I don’t think giving up is the right idea,” said Yuvraj.

“Playing sport makes me happy. Obviously, I want to play for India, but also have to realize how I enjoyed just hitting the ball. On those reasons, I feel this is something that brings me happiness.”

Despite not being in Indian team, the southpaw is enjoying the game and wishes to play until he stops enjoying the sport. He concluded while revealing his future plans and said “I will play as long as I enjoy it. As soon as I stop enjoying it, I will look forward to life and doing something else. It’s been an eventful journey—something new happens every year of my life. Let’s see what happens next year.”

Yuvraj has made several comebacks in the team, two in last one and half year. Firstly, selectors named him in the T20I squad for Australia tour, where he played a crucial knock in Sydney to help his team registering a historic scoreline of 3-0. He maintained himself in playing XI until getting injured in the WT20 clash against Kangaroos. After 8 months, selectors recalled him for ODI series against England earlier this year. He, also, justified his selection with a vintage show with his blade. In Cuttack, Yuvi scored career-best 150 and shared a match-winning stand with MSD.

Thus, the 35-year-old starched his stay in team till Windies tour but lack of consistency with bat brought his exclusion from the squad.
