Former India all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh, has criticised India’s poor fielding against the West Indies in the first T20I at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday. Yuvraj Singh, who was considered as one of the best fielders in his time and also a big-hitter, slammed the youngsters of India who dropped a couple of catches in the middle, including Washington Sundar, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul. He also questioned the number of games that are being played in India in recent times. However, the former all-rounder remained optimistic about India’s win in the game.

He took to Twitter and tweeted, “India very poor on the field today ! Young guns reacting a bit late on the ball! Too much cricket ? ? Let’s get these runs come on lads,” Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

India won the toss and asked the visitor’s to bat. Although the West Indies got off to a poor start as they lost their opener Lendl Simmons (2) very cheaply in the second over where Pacer Deepak Chahar provided with the early breakthrough for India, Evin Lewis and Brandon King added a 51-run partnership for the second wicket.

Lewis played a quickfire knock of 40 runs off 17 balls. Because of which the West Indies was at 66/2 after the end of the powerplay. After that, Shimron Hetmyer joined King in the middle and added some quick runs by adding a stand of 37-run and guided the side to post a huge competitive total.

Ravindra Jadeja dismissed King (31) in the 11th over, reducing them at 101/3. However, West Indies put up 207/5 in their 20 overs as Kieron Pollard and Jason Holder later added some quick runs as well. In reply, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored half-centuries and India chased down the total with eight balls remaining.
