Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh recently shared the name of a batter whom he would want to bat for his life. The 2011 World Cup winner didn’t pick batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar or Virat Kohli but picked India’s Test and ODI skipper of India National Cricket Team Rohit Sharma.
In an interaction with Sportskeeda, Yuvraj Singh said so. However, Yuvraj Singh and Rohit Sharma share a great bond. The duo often have been seen teasing each other as well. They have played a lot of cricket together also. The veteran all-rounder was there for Rohit when he was left out of India’s 2011 World Cup squad. Singh had taken him out for dinner, which had helped him to handle the situation as well. He also recently named Rohit his ‘closest friend’ in an interaction earlier this year as well.

Yuvraj Singh is one of the best all-rounders to have played for the India National Cricket Team. He has been the biggest match-winner for India, and the kind of impact he made has been stunning. He was equally on top with both bat and ball as well. He was one of the main reasons behind India winning the T20 World Cup 2007 and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, where he was Man of the Tournament for his stunning effort with the bat and ball.
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma has been one of the best batters of the Indian team. He has become one of the best openers in the game of cricket and is the backbone of the team as well. Even at the age of 37, he has been leading from the front and guided the team to the T20 World Cup 2024 win where he was also the leading run-getter for his team as well.
Soon, he will lead India in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh as well.
