Yuvraj Singh is set to join the Delhi Capitals coaching setup from IPL 2027, marking his first formal coaching role in the league. According to a fresh Times of India report, Sourav Ganguly is expected to oversee DC’s support staff when JSW Group takes control of the franchise again, and he wants Yuvraj in the dugout as part of that plan.

The move fits Delhi Capitals’ unusual ownership model, where GMR Group and JSW Group each hold a 50 per cent stake and alternate control every two years. The report says JSW is due to take charge next, with Parth Jindal expected to appoint Ganguly to the leadership role.

Sourav Ganguly’s coaching stock has also risen after he guided Pretoria Capitals to the SA20 final in his first head-coaching stint. For Yuvraj, the DC job would be a major new chapter after years of informal mentoring. He has worked closely with players such as Abhishek Sharma, Prabhsimran Singh and Abdul Samad, and has also advised Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant and Priyansh Arya in recent years.

His impact has been widely praised, especially for the way he has helped young Indian batters sharpen their game under pressure. The former India all-rounder also runs the talent agency Prolithic, which represents several rising cricketers, including Abhishek, Prabhsimran and Abdul Samad.

That makes his move to an official coaching role at Delhi Capitals especially interesting, because his mentorship network could now overlap with a franchise environment. DC will hope Yuvraj’s double-World Cup-winning experience brings both authority and clarity to a team that has still not won an IPL title.

The franchise has often been inconsistent at key stages of the season, and a figure like Yuvraj could add the edge and mentality they have long lacked. He also brings deep knowledge of Punjab’s cricket ecosystem, where he has worked extensively with young players through high-profile camps.
