Legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh recently recounted a humorous yet surprising incident from his playing days during India’s challenging 2007-08 tour of Australia. At that time, Yuvraj was grappling with a rough patch in his career, managing only 202 runs in nine ODI matches at an average of 22.44, and a disappointing total of 17 runs in two Test matches, averaging just 4.25.
It was during this tumultuous period that he found himself involved with a popular Bollywood actress, whose identity he chose to keep under wraps. In a candid conversation on the *Club Prairie Fire* podcast, Yuvraj shared a memorable encounter that unfolded while he was on tour. Despite expressing his need for space to concentrate on his game, the actress followed him to Canberra, determined to spend time with him.
“I was dating an actress, and she was shooting in Adelaide at the time. I told her, ‘Listen, let’s not meet for a bit because I’m on the Australia tour and need to focus.’ But she decided to follow me to Canberra in the bus,” he recalled.

Yuvraj, baffled by her presence, questioned her decision, to which she replied, “I want to spend time with you.” The situation became even more amusing when Yuvraj found himself in an awkward predicament regarding footwear. As their visit came to an end, he realized he had forgotten to pack his shoes. The actress had packed his suitcase, leaving him with no option but to wear her pink slip-ons for the trip to the airport.

“In the morning, I was like, ‘Where are my shoes?’ She said, ‘I packed them.’ I asked, ‘How would I go on the bus?’ And she replied, ‘Wear mine.’ So there I was, wearing these pink slip-ons and carrying my bag in front of my shoes to hide them. The guys saw it, and they clapped for me. I had to wear those pink slip-ons to the airport until I could buy flip-flops there,” Yuvraj chuckled.

While he refrained from naming the actress, speculation arose that it might have been Deepika Padukone, whom he was reportedly dating at the time. Since then, Yuvraj has moved on, marrying Hazel Keech in 2016, and has embraced fatherhood with two children.
