The upcoming IPL 2022 mega auction will begin in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13 respectively. Several players will go under the hammer in the mega auction as well. With two new teams joining the competition, it has raised the bar as well as the expectations of the fans. And, players too are excited about this, including Yuzvendra Chahal and Shardul Thakur.
Meanwhile, 318 overseas players have registered for the upcoming mega auction. However, the existing and new teams have retained as many as 33 players. Notably, Chennai Super Kings are the second-most successful team in the IPL. And, they have retained four players including 3 Indians and an overseas player. They are – MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali alongside their captain, MS Dhoni.
They retained Dhoni for INR 12 crores, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for INR 16 crores, opener Ruturaj Gaikwad for INR 6 crores and all-rounder Moeen Ali for INR 8 crores as well. However, at the same time, CSK released top players like Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, Shardul Thakur, Dwayne Bravo and a few.
Meanwhile, with the upcoming auction is around the corner, former CSK player Shardul Thakur asked his India teammates Yuzvendra Chahal and KL Rahul an interesting question. Shardul asked: “How much budget is for me?” To which KL Rahul said: “Base price”. However, Yuzvendra Chahal said: “We don’t have a budget for God bro.”
Now it will be interesting to see if CSK will buy Shardul Thakur again for the IPL 2022.
