India and Zimbabwe will clash in the fourth T20I of their five-match series on July 13th at the Harare Sports Club. India currently leads the series 2-1, having secured two convincing victories. In the third T20I, India’s batting line-up continued to impress, with Shubman Gill scoring 66 runs and Ruturaj Gaikwad contributing 49 runs. Washington Sundar’s impactful bowling spell of 3/21 effectively restricted Zimbabwe’s chase.

Despite a valiant knock of 65 by Zimbabwe’s Dion Myers, they fell short, needing a more collective effort to challenge the dominant Indian side. India’s well-rounded performance, with a strong batting line-up and a balanced bowling attack, positions them as the favourites to win the fourth T20I and secure the series victory. However, Zimbabwe will be determined to bounce back and avoid a series defeat.

This will be the fourth time India faces Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club, where teams batting first have won in the three matches played so far.  The pitch is expected to be dry with cracks that pacers will try to exploit. While batters might perform well initially, pacers will aim to use hard lengths and cutters. Spinners could become very effective in the second half, enjoying significant turns.

In the 11 T20Is played between India and Zimbabwe, India has won eight matches. Zimbabwe has secured three wins, with one coming in the first game of this series and the others in 2015 and 2016. Zimbabwe will need to bring their best performance to avoid losing the series to India.

Changes are expected in the Zimbabwe camp following their heavy defeat in the last game. Captain Sikandar Raza indicated that if fit, left-arm pacer Richard Ngarava would be included in the playing XI. “If he’s fit to go, he’s straight back in,” Raza said after the game, showing a preference for stability despite the loss.

For India, batter Sai Sudharsan will not be part of the line-up, as he was included only for the first two T20Is. Jaiswal might be brought in to replace him, but with Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad performing well, the team may stick with their current top-order combination.
