The outbreak of the Corona Virus has brought the world to a standstill. It has also halted all the sporting events as a safety measure for the people and avoid the mass gathering of crowds. The cricketing calendar has suffered because of the same. With no cricket going on, all the cricketers have a lot of free time on their hands right now. Many cricketers have also been proactive on their social media in the past few weeks due to the lockdown. Indian middle-order batsman Suresh Raina was a part of a Facebook live session where the CSK player explained the similarities he finds between Lionel Messi and Sachin Tendulkar.

Raina says Messi and Sachin and have been generous to people around them. He explains how humble Sachin and Messi are despite achieving an immense amount of success in their careers.

Raina said,  “I am a big fan of Messi. He is so down to earth, Both Sachin and Messi are very good when it comes to taking care of people around them because in sports you need to be really humble. You may be the number one player in the world, but your legacy is very important, You need to show gratitude to everyone.”

Suresh Raina recalls India’s title-winning World Cup campaign in 2011. He shared how Tendulkar was like the team’s second coach and how the master blaster took care of the entire team during the ICC tournament.

Raina said, “With Sachin, it’s always about his calmness. It was because of Sachin that we won the World Cup. He was the guy who made everyone in the team believe that we can do that, He was like the second coach in the team.”
