On Thursday, Cricket South Africa chief executive Jacques Fauhad revealed BCCI’s willingness to play 3 T20Is in SA in August. South Africa’s cricket board is planning to implement a bio-bubble model for cricketing activities. It a method the CSA plans to use and tackle the coronavirus pandemic which is expected to be at its peak during that period.
The bio-bubble model requires a venue capable enough for housing around 350 people. It should include all players, media, and everyone else in the nearby vicinity. There has to be a 171-room hotel at the venue and another with 176 rooms adjacent to it.

If implemented, The bio-bubble mode will maximize the playing days since the players will be kept in mandatory quarantine for two weeks with international travel involved.
CSA Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shuaib Manjra got involved in a Zoom conference with the media. During the same, he said, “We probably will see the peak (of Covid-19 in South Africa) in August or September in different parts of the country, so we have just got to keep looking at the models and see what happens in August.”
“Probably the three T20 games with India, if it does take place, is an ideal opportunity to create this bubble, because we don’t envisage that at that time there will be spectators around in the ground, so we can create a bio-bubble and play the games in that bio-bubble,” Dr. Shuaib Manjra added.

However, both the cricketing associations are awaiting a green signal from their governments. They will also wait to reevaluate the situation in both India and South Africa.
“We cannot cast anything in stone. We’ve also got to look at where India is going in terms of Covid-19. (Our) government is also looking at it and we have to take our directive from (them),” Manjra said.
