The veteran Chennai Super Kings (CSK) cricketer, Faf du Plessis pulled off some brilliant catches during the tournament opener of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and CSK. The former South African skipper Faf du Plessis once again gave the testimony why he is one of the all-time great fielders. And, he displayed that not once but twice when he caught two catches in the 15th over of the first innings bowled by Ravindra Jadeja.
With Saurabh Tiwary and Hardik Pandya going all guns blazing against the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Lungi Ngidi, Chennai Super Kings needed something inspirational from their bowlers. And, by good didn’t Faf du Plessis stepped up to the occasion or what.

On the first ball of the 15th over, when Tiwary slog-swept a length ball outside off from Jadeja, Faf leaped up to take the catch at the boundary line and landed inside safely as he took a quick step out and back into play and completed the catch. While on the penultimate ball of the over, Hardik was looking to smack it, but the ball landed straight into Faf’s hand. Jadeja bowled a tossed up delivery as De Plessis did his magic by taking the catch before throwing it up the air and completing the catch.

In the previous over of the Jadeja, Pandya had smashed him for two back-to-back sixes in the last two balls of the over. Both instances came in the 15th over of the Mumbai Indians’ innings. Naturally, Twitter went ablaze after Faf du Plessis’ brilliance.
