The sixth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 will be played between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday. It might be a bittersweet match-up for RCB fans as they will witnessing to play some former players playing for the opposition.

RCB won their first game owing to a brilliant performance from their bowling attack, led by Yuzvendra Chahal’s magical spell, that paved the way for their first win of the season. However, Virat Kohli and his men are in for a stern test against KXIP, who has a resourceful unit in place with Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul looking to get one over their former team.

With the likes of Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Shami in decent form as well, KL Rahul and his men should prove to be a handful as they eye their first win of the season. They don’t have the best of records against RCB with both their IPL 2019 league games ending in defeats. If the previous IPL 2020 games in Dubai are any indicators, fans can be expecting an absolute thriller come Thursday.

Nevermind the 68-run difference between their tallies, KXIP’s two openers were their best batsmen in their close loss. However, a batting show like that calls for the inclusion for Chris Gayle in the playing XI, possibly as a replacement of Nicholas Pooran since skipper Rahul is anyway donning the keeping gloves. One of Sheldon Cottrell or Chris Jordan could also make way for Mujeeb ur Rahman.

Probable XI: KL Rahul (C, wk), Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, Nicholas Pooran/Chris Gayle, Sarfaraz Khan, Glenn Maxwell, Krishnappa Gowtham, Chris Jordan/Sheldon Cottrell, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohammed Shami.

With Chris Morris unlikely available, a win in their tournament opener might just be good enough reason for them to resist the temptation of fiddling with their XI just yet.

Probable XI: Aaron Finch, Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers, Josh Philippe (wk), Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube, Navdeep Saini, Umesh Yadav, Dale Steyn, Yuzvendra Chahal.
