The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has finally managed to win their maiden game in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 by doing what they do best. SRH defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 15 runs in Dubai after amassing a decent score of 162/4 in their quota of 20 overs and restricted Delhi for 147/7 in 20 overs.
Earlier in the game, DC skipper, Shreyas Iyer decided to bowl first after winning the toss and they made one change as Ishant Sharma came back in to replace Avesh Khan. On the other hand, SRH also made a couple of changes as Mohammad Nabi and Wridhhiman Saha made way for Kane Williamson and Abdul Samad.

The fiery opening pair of Jonny Bairstow and David Warner laid the foundation by making a partnership of 77 runs for the first wicket. Warner fell for a gritty 45 while Bairstow dragged himself to score 53 off 48 deliveries. The significant knock came from Kane Williamson (41 off 26 balls), who was playing his first game of the season helped the Orange Army to reach a defendable score of 162.
During the chase, DC lost Prithvi Shaw to Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the first over itself. Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer played some enterprising shots before the latter getting dismissed by Rashid Khan in his first over itself. With the Capitals boasting of a deep batting line-up, SunRisers’ bowlers had to remain spot on. Rishabh Pant provided a brief impetus and threatened to spark a turnaround that IPL 2020 has witnessed in the past two matches.

However, SRH death bowling was fantastic and a rookie in T Natarajan’s 18th over probably turned the game completely in Hyderabad’s favor. By defending 163 to reduce the DC to 15 runs short, the SRH will gain much-needed confidence moving forward. Moreover, it is their brilliant death-bowling that will gain aplenty. Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets in four overs for only 14 runs.

Delighted for Natarajan. Excellent execution of yorkers at the end. Rashid was sensational as well. Great now that all the teams are off the mark.

That’s how you bowl at the back end of an innings ! Outstanding Natarajan

Absolutely brilliant from Natarajan. Best use of the yorker so far in this tournament.

Typo. 7 yorkers, not 6.

First time we have seen the @SunRisers get back to their DNA…. bowlers plus the opening batsmen getting the job done …
Can't see them being able to do this consistently but its damn good to see if you're a fan #selectdugout— Scott Styris (@scottbstyris) September 29, 2020
First points for #SRH and a good win for them!
After a few heart-stopping games, this was a good heart warming game after seeing class knocks by @davidwarner31 @jbairstow21 & especially Williamson!#DCvsSRH— Vinod Kambli (@vinodkambli349) September 29, 2020
Fine win by SRH. Read pitch correctly, batted and bowled far better than Delhi Capitals. Result pulls stalls DC’s progress, throws open the tournament #IPL #SRH #DC

I know that #DD run rate explodes to 11 at the back end. However on this slow pitch that is a huge ask. Though you never know 🤷🏽♀️ #SRHvDC
