Manoj Tiwary Lauds Ravi Shastri For Supporting Suryakumar Yadav

Former Indian cricketer, Manoj Tiwary recalled his time as a player while lauding the current Indian head coach, Ravi Shastri’s tweet for Suryakumar Yadav. The latter was once again looked in impeccable form as he guided the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) to a five-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday.

Yadav made the 165 runs chase look like a walk in the park for MI as they chased down the target without breaking a sweat as he notched up an unbeaten 79 off 43 deliveries. In the process, he batted through the innings. His knock was laced with 10 boundaries and three hits over the fence as he batted with a strike rate over 183.

After his brilliant knock, Shastri took to Twitter and lauded the knock, asking him to be patient as he tweeted: “Surya namaskar. Stay strong and patient @surya_14kumar #MIvsRCB.” Responding to the tweet, Tiwary wrote: “I just wish u were the coach of Indian team during the series where i scored 100. Your message like this would have surely helped my international career. Seeing this tweet of urs #Surya will be happy.”

His sensational knock comes after he failed to find a place in the Team India bus for the tour Down Under.

Talking about his innings after the match, Suryakumar Yadav said, “I was looking to finish the game. I was looking to learn what my game is. Happy to have finished it. One over cover to Chahal and the back foot punch off Steyn were my favorites. I used to love playing on the on-side before. Pleased to have finished the game. The team management told me before the start of the tournament told me that you have played enough to take the game deep.”
