The vice-captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Suresh Raina played a splendid knock in his first Indian Premier Lague (IPL) 2021 match for CSK against Delhi Capitals (DC). The seasoned CSK batsman was smashing the DC bowlers to all parts of the Wankhede stadium and it seemed he will score a big one. Unfortunately, Raina was run out after Ravindra Jadeja sold him a dummy as he didn’t go for the second run.
Jadeja played a back-of-a-length delivery bowled by Avesh Khan softly towards square leg and sprinted the first run. While he was running he sensed an opportunity to steal a second run and called Raina which proved to be very costly for Chennai. After completing the first run, Raina trusted Jadeja’s call and immediately got off to complete the second run.

However, as Jadeja was turning back for the run the bowler Avesh got in his way which barred Jadeja to complete the second run. Suresh Raina at the other end was mid-way through but son realized that Jadeja is stuck at his end and made an attempt of coming back, but it was too late. Nevertheless, it was too late as the fielder Chris Woakes got to the ball in a flash, and DC skipper Rishabh Pant wasted no time in clipping the bails.
