Former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra reckons that the sun has set for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. After SRH’s huge loss against the Rajasthan Royals (RR),  Chopra said that the team has changed the captain but not their fortunes. SRH changed their skipper David Warner before the match against Rajasthan Royals. The franchise handed the captaincy to Kane Williamson as the new skipper for the team and also benched David Warner for the match. However, this did not yield any positive results as RR defeated SRH by a huge margin of 55 runs.

Talking about the same on his Youtube channel, Aakash Chopra said, “The sun has set for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their captain has changed but not their fortunes. They have won just one of their seven encounters. They changed the combination and played Nabi with Rashid. But they didn’t make him bowl at all and got very little batting as well because he came too low down. Bhuvi was back but the form was missing for the other players.”

Chopra also said he was surprised at the bowling changes made by Kane Williamson in the game against RR.

Describing the same, Aakash Chopra said, “I was a little surprised at Kane Williamson’s bowling choices. He didn’t give bowling to Nabi at all or gave just the one over, finished Rashid by the 11th over. I was slightly stunned.”

After the defeat against Punjab Kings, Hyderabad has suffered 6 losses out of the 7 games they have played so far in IPL 2021. Their only victory came against Punjab Kings. Hyderabad as a team holds the last spot in the points table after half of the tournament has finished.
