The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has started a probe into their cricketer’s old tweets. After ECB suspended Ollie Robinson for his tweets from 2012, several tweets of Eoin Morgan, Jos Buttler and James Anderson have started surfacing on the internet. ECB has stated they are looking into those tweets as well.
However, Michael Vaughan isn’t looking pleased with whatever happening in English cricket. He feels it is way back in the past and this ‘witch hunt’ should be stopped.

ECB is investigating Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler’s old tweets, where they were mocking Indians’ way of talking. James Anderson’s tweet from 2010 also came up where he was making homophobic remarks for fellow teammate Stuart Broad.
“No one at the time of Morgan’s, Buttler’s & Anderson’s tweets seemed offended at the time they tweeted but it’s amazing how they now seem offensive a few years later !!!!!! Utterly ridiculous… The witch hunt has started but has to stop,” Vaughan tweeted.

The posts, in which Buttler and Morgan used the word ‘sir’ to mock the Indians, surfaced in the wake of ECB suspending fast bowler Ollie Robinson for some of his offensive tweets dating back to 2012-13.
“Screenshots have also been shared of a message by Buttler in which he says ‘I always reply sir no1 else like me like you like me’ and, separately, Morgan includes Buttler in a message which says, ‘Sir you’re my favourite batsman’,” according to a report in the Telegraph.co.uk.

Meanwhile, ECB assured to take ‘relevant and appropriate action’ while each case will be considered on an individual basis.
Former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum is also been accused of mocking Indians on tweets where he was doing conversation with Morgan and Buttler.
McCullum is the head coach of IPL franchise KKR while Morgan was captaining the side in IPL 2021. KKE CEO Venky Mysore has made it clear the franchise don’t have full knowledge of the matter and will wait until the ECB comes to a decision.
