England and Sri Lanka locked horns in limited-overs series that was seen as a mismatch. And it turns out to be the one. Sri Lanka had no answers against the World Champion England side. After being whitewashed in the T20I series, Sri Lanka couldn’t pose any challenge in the One-Day International series as well, which they lost by 2-0 with the third game being washed out due to rain.
England opted to bowl first in the third game after Eoin Morgan won the toss. Sri Lanka looked all over the places against England’s quality pacers. They lost six wickets before even crossing the 100-run mark and finally got cleaned up for 166.

Tom Curran was the pick of the bowlers with a four-fer. Chris Woakes also breathed fire yet another time and registered the figures of 10-3-28-2 in the third game.
However, the match couldn’t complete because of persistent rain at Bristol’s County Ground.
Meanwhile, Jonny Bairstow took a sensational catch during the third ODI.
It all happened in the 30th over of the first innings when Karunaratne edged a Tom Curran delivery behind the stumps. With the ball travelling between Bairstow and Joe Root – fielding at first slip – it was the wicket-keeper who put a full-length dive to complete the catch.

Karunaratne got out after scoring 11 runs in 29 balls.
England sealed the series by 2-0 after winning the first two games. Sam Curran was the star with the ball in the second game as he took his maiden fifer. Chris Woakes was too hot to handle in the first game where he bowled five maiden overs in his spell and managed to grab four wickets.
