BCCI Shares First Look Of Trent Bridge Pitch Ahead Of First England-India Test

The Test series between England and India is about to start that will also mark the commencement of the World Test Championship cycle 2021-23. Both teams will lock horns in five Test matches and the cricketing fraternity is eagerly waiting to see this battle.

The first Test match will be played in Nottingham’s Trent Bridge from Wednesday, August 4. On their last tour of England, India won the solitary Test in Nottingham and they will like to take inspiration from that win.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Sunday, shared an image of Trent Bridge’s pitch, on which the first Test will be played. The pitch is looking on the greener side and a lot of grass can be seen in the image. Though there are still three days for the first game to be started and it may get trimmed with days.

India last toured England back in 2018 for five Test matches and lost the series by 4-1. However, the series was closely fought between the two teams but it was England who finally prevailed as winners. But this time several experts are backing India to win their first Test series in England since 2007.

India have several match-winners and have been doing well while touring abroad. The Test series win in Australia earlier this year is historical by several means. India are flying high on confidence and can overcome an upbeat English team.

These two teams played four Test matches earlier this year as well in India. The hosts came victorious by 3-1 after conceding the first Test in Chennai. The following matches had spin-friendly wickets and England were very upset by this. They expressed their desire of doing the same to India for this tour but later Joe Root rejected such claims.
