Team India is currently on a roll in Test cricket. The latest win at the Lord’s is proof of how this Indian team can never be taken for granted. Virat Kohli’s men came from behind to register a remarkable win by 151 runs against England in the second Test of the five-match series.

India were in dire straights and it was upon tailenders to save the blushes of the team. Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah combined together to stitch a sensational unbeaten 89-run stand for the ninth wicket and put the pressure back on England at Lord’s.

Later on, Indian bowlers turned out to bowl with fire and dismissed England for 120 to win the Test by 151 runs and left everyone gushing how good this Indian Test team is.

The same was on display when India toured Australia earlier this year. Made the playing XI out of the remaining resources and scripted a historical Test series win Down Under.

Meanwhile, former South African pacer Allan Donald mentioned how Virat Kohli had told him back in 2015 that Team India will be the number 1 Test side in the World.

“I remember Virat’s words in 2015 when he said to me India will become world’s No.1 Test team and he wasn’t wrong,” Donald said in a video on YouTube channel Cricket Life Stories.

“He knew where he was going. He said: ‘I want this to be the fittest team, I want us to be the greatest team on the planet, knowing that we can play away from home, knowing we can beat anyone and that’s going to take a very good bowling attack to do so’.”

Currently, India are placed on the second spot in the Test rankings with New Zealand being placed at the top. It has been five years running with India being on top of the Test rankings. It was only after the World Test Championship Final when New Zealand leapfrogged India.
