Cricketing Fraternity Condoles As Parthiv Patel Losses His Father

Former Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Parthiv Patel lost his father on Sunday (September 26) and condolences started coming from the coming in from different parts. The former wicketkeeper-batsman took to Twitter and announced the sad news. Parthiv, who’s a part of the expert panel in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in Dubai, shared a picture of his late father Mr. Ajaybhai Bipinchandra Patel and urged his fans to keep him in thoughts and prayers.

The comment section got flooded in no time as a lot of people on social media consoling about Parthiv for his father’s demise. Many prominent cricketers including Sachin Tendulkar, RP Singh, and Wasim Jaffer also expressed grief in comments.

In his tweet, Parthiv Patel wrote: “It is with the deepest grief and sadness, we inform the passing away of my father Mr. Ajaybhai Bipinchandra patel. He left for his heavenly abode on 26th September 2021. We request you to keep him in your thoughts and prayers. May his soul rest in peace🙏 ॐ नम: शिवाय.”

After Sachin Tendulkar came across the news, he was seen expressing his condolences for Parthiv and his entire family. He tweeted, “May your father’s soul rest in peace, @parthiv9! My heartfelt condolences to your entire family in this time of grief.”

Meanwhile, Parthiv Patel is one of the better wicket-keeper batsmen to have played for India. He has always been known for attacking the bowlers from the outset and his glovework was also précised. In fact, the left-handed batsman made his international debut at the age of 17.

Although the rise of MS Dhoni meant Parthiv didn’t play regularly for India, the southpaw continued to be a force to reckon with in domestic competitions and in the Indian Premier League. He played for several franchises in the gala tournament including five-time champions Mumbai Indians and three-time winners Chennai Super Kings.
