West Indies posted 143/8 in 20 overs despite getting a good start with the bat. 73 runs were scored for the first wicket while the rest of the batters could only muster 70 runs.
In response, South Africa didn’t have a good start as they lost their skipper Temba Bavuma in the first over. He got run out for 2 runs by Andre Russell. Rassie van der Dussen walked out to bat at number three. He and Reeza Hendricks added 57 runs for the second wicket with the latter looking in ominous touch.
Hendricks was batting on 39 runs when Shimron Hetmyer grabbed a stunning catch to dismiss him. Hendricks tried to sweep Akeal Hosein for a boundary but he sent the ball as far as Hetmyer, who put a fine dive to complete a tough chance.
The umpire gave it not out in soft-signal while sending it to the third umpire, who adjudged it out.
