Former South Africa fast bowler, Dale Steyn has opined that the Indian opener, KL Rahul could have been one modern-day batter who would have troubled him. During a recent Question & Answer session on his Twitter, Steyn was asked: “In today’s generation which batter do you think would have created a problem for you as a bowler”, responding to which he wrote “KL”.

Asked if “Jacques Kallis the greatest cricketer of all time?”, Dale Steyn said: “He certainly doesn’t get spoken of enough anymore, he was in my opinion the best I ever played with.”

Dale Steyn also acknowledged that he loved bowling against New Zealand. A user asked, “Which country did you love bowling against and did you have a batsmen that you claimed as your bunny,” tow which Steyn replied, “Early years I enjoyed bowling against NZ, I took plenty poles against them but over time they’ve have become a real force. Bunny is slightly bad term to use because I’m good friends with him, but I got M. Hafeez out on more than a few occasions.”

Dale Steyn also answered questions regarding bio-bubble fatigue and the team that let him down the most during the T20 World Cup 2021. He said, “Bangladesh. They better than what they showed, no fault of management, players need to be held responsible, you either want to play or you don’t, they all didn’t. I think it’s very real. It’s incredibly difficult and I think everyone worldwide had a taste of it during their lockdowns.”

He further added, “As sportspeople, it’s even more difficult as now you have no escape, no way to find normalcy in an already crazy lifestyle. Bubble life needs a relook. Find people who will better your life and learn from them, don’t forget your best friends as you’ll need them when things are tough, and never be too proud to ask for help.”

A veteran of 93 Tests and 439 wickets, Dale Steyn was one of the finest fast bowler in the sport’s history to have graced the game. He announced his international retirement earlier this year.
