Former Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday have finally confirmed their new-look coaching staff with as many as four fresh additions, including legends Brian Lara and Dale Steyn, for the 2022 season. Former West Indies skipper, Brian Lara has been appointed the batting coach of the team and he will also be a strategic advisor for the SRH.
Apart from that, former South Africa fast bowler, Dale Steyn will be serving as the fast bowling coach for the upcoming season. Former India batsman Heman Badani has been named the fielding coach and scout while ex-Australian opener Simon Katich will be SRH’s assistant coach.

All the new recruits in the support staff will be working under head coach Tom Moody while Muttiah Muralitharan will continue to serve as the strategy and spin bowling coach.

Former Australian pacer, Tom Moody has witnessed a comeback to the SRH management as the head coach last year while team mentor VVS Laxman quit after IPL 2021 as he was appointed the National Cricket Academy (NCA) director by the BCCI.

SRH had a disappointing season in the IPL this year as they failed to qualify for the playoffs after finishing at the bottom of the points table after the league stage under captain Kane Williamson, who has been retained for the new season along with batsman Abdul Samad and young Kashmiri speedster Umran Malik.
