The Indian Premier League (IPL) mega- auction for the upcoming edition of 2022 has started in Bengaluru and it will be engrossing to see how each of the teams finally shapes up. Here is what the Rajasthan Royals (RR) are up to in the auctions.

Day 1
#1 R Ashwin – ₹5 crores
The veteran India all-rounder, R Ashwin went under the table and Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals have started the bidding war. DDC was looking goof to re-sign Ashwin, but RR was giving them a run for their money in the IPL 2022 mega auction. And Rajasthan Royals have managed to buy the services of R Ashwin for ₹5 crores.
#2 Trent Boult – ₹8 Crores
The Kiwi fast bowler, Trent Boult went under the hammer and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and RR fought hard to get their hands on the southpaw pacer. RCB went out then Mumbai Indians joined the race now to re-gain their former pacer. And Rajasthan Royals eventually bought the service of Boult for ₹8 Crores.
#3 Shimron Hetnyer – ₹8.5 crores
The West Indies batter is up for the grab in the mega auction here. Rajasthan Royals make the first attempt to sign him and Delhi Capitals join them in the race. And the bidding war intensifies between the two franchises. No other teams are looking interested in signing Hetmyer. Rajasthan Royals sign Shimron Hetmyer for ₹8.5 Crores.
#4 Devdutt Padikkal – ₹7.75 crores
The talented young opener, Devdutt Padikkal went under the hammer and Royal Challengers Bangalore straightaway decide to get him back. Chennai Super Kings have joined the race to get him. And here comes Rajasthan Royals to steal him. Wait a minute, Mumbai Indians have joined the big race and are going big for him. Rajasthan Royal make another big signing by roping in the series of Devdutt Padikkal for ₹7.75 crores.
#5 Prasidh Krishna – ₹10 crores
The young Indian fast bowler, Prasidh Krishna went under the hammer in IPL 2022 mega-auction and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and RR fought hard to get their hands on the pacer. Another new franchise Gujarat enter the race for Krishna. He eventually was bought by a new team, Rajasthan Royals as they signed him for a whopping ₹10 crores.
#5 Yuzvendra Chahal – ₹6.5 crores
The premier Indian leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal ignited a bidding war between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. Delhi had eventually backed down from the challenge and Sunrisers Hyderabad entered the war. Interestingly, no bids for Chahal from RCB. In the end, the Royals signed Yuzvendra Chahal for INR 6.5 Crores.
#6 Riyan Parag – ₹3.8 crores
The talented all-rounder, Riyan Parag was up for grabs and Rajasthan Royals oped the bid for him, and then Delhi Capitals join them in the race. Gujarat Titans also entered the bidding war, but in the end, the Royals re-gain Riyan Parag for ₹3.80 Crores.
#7 KC Cariappa – ₹30 Lakhs
Rajasthan Royals managed to get their spinner, KC Cariappa back for just ₹30 Lakh.
