Wriddhiman Saha Smashed A Classy Six Against GT

The defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locked horns with the new entrants Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 62nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In the second innings, the fans saw something different as Wriddhiman Saha hit a classy six which set the internet on first and commentators on air in awe.

CSK skipper, MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first citing the scorching heat in Mumbai. While batting first, CSK batters failed to do much against the fiery GTT bowling unit. In the powerplay, CSK lost the wicket of Devon Conway and they scored 47/1. Sai Kishore provided GT with a second breakthrough by dismissing all-rounder Moeen Ali for 21 in the 9th over.

Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad completed his half-century off 44 balls, including 4 fours and one six and this was his 10th fifty in the IPL. Gaikwad’s 49-ball 53 runs knock but he eventually perished on the last ball of the 16th over, which was bowled by Rashid Khan.

After that, CSK kept batting extremely slow and they only managed to reach a total of 133/5. Gujarat Titans opened the batting with Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill. The veteran wicket-keeper batter again managed to give a fiery start as he even got lucky to not be dismissed early in his innings.

However, Wriddhiman Saha got going and started striking the ball well and looked dangerous. On the third ball of the fourth over, Simarjeet Singh bowled a short pitch ball to Saha and the batter swiveled and managed to smash the ball for a classy six.  GT eventually won the game by 7 wickets with 5 balls to spare.
