Jemimah Rodrigues Reveals She Addresses Smriti Mandhana As Mummy

Indian women cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues recently shared about her relationship with Smriti Mandhana. She recalled a hilarious incident when the opener didn’t talk to her for the whole day after she messed up things on that particular day. Both Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues are the crucial cogs of the Indian women’s team. They have played some famous knocks for the team and have guided the team to the win with their stellar performances.

Not only the on-field performances but the two share a great bond off the field as well. They have often been seen sharing heartfelt moments and even staying with each other all the time when the team tours overseas.

Rodrigues said that Smriti Mandhana scolds her often and recalled a hilarious incident when the senior batter didn’t talk to her after she messed up things once. Speaking to Gaurav Kapur on his show ‘Breakfast with Champions’, she recalled: “She does (scold) and sometimes turns into a mother figure. I call her mummy sometimes.”

He further added, “Once I messed up like something she told me not to do and it was wrong on my part. She didn’t even look at me the entire day. When I asked her something about batting, she told me to do this but after that, she didn’t look at me the entire day.”

Jemimah Rodrigues further also talked about Jhulam Goswami. She said that the former Indian cricketer loves having fun and makes everyone feel comfortable.

She explained: “Jhulu di is that one senior who like every junior likes. She just makes us feel comfortable and she loves having fun. She is a little shy when you put on music, but we call her and then she started dancing with us. Not a bad dancer but better than Smriti.”

Jhulan Goswami is one of the legends of the India women’s team. She played 12 Tests, 204 ODIs, and 68 T20Is in her career, which lasted more than two decades. She called time on her career last year and ended as the highest wicket-taker in women’s ODI cricket with 255 wickets to her name.
