IPL 2023: Match 61 (CSK vs KKR) – Playing XI And Fantasy XI Predictions

The 61st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will be played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK is currently placed at the 2nd position on the points table of this season of IPL whereas KKR is at the bottom of the points table. CSK played 12 matches in IPL 2023 where they won 7 games while Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) played 12 games this season where they managed just five victories.

It will be the second game of the season between the two teams and with CSK playing in their own backyard, they will be looking to seal their top-2 spot in the playoffs. However, both teams look a lot more balanced ahead of this match, with KKR winning their last couple of games out of their last three.

These two teams have played have played 30 games against each other in the history of IPL so far where both Chennai Super Kings have won 19 matches game while the remaining games have been won by KKR. The last time they played against each other in 203, CSK registered a comfortable win by 49 runs.

Sisanda Magala has resumed training after suffering a split webbing injury. He is, however, unlikely to come into the game. Ben Stokes too has passed the fitness test but has been unable to force his way back with CSK opting for the spinning option of Moeen Ali on the tiring surfaces at the end of the Indian season.

Umesh Yadav has been sidelined after he suffered a minor hamstring injury but did bowl in practice on the eve of the Rajasthan Royals game. His participation though will still be subject to teh clearance from BCCI with the WTC Final looming. Sunil Narine has dismissed Ajinkya Rahane four times and conceded a solitary boundary to MS Dhoni in 73 balls. Varun CV, on the other hand, has dismissed Dhoni three times in 15 balls bowled to the CSK captain.
