Indian captain Rohit Sharma provided some lighthearted moments during a press conference when he jokingly talked about his teammate Ishan Kishan’s 25th birthday. The Indian team is currently in the Caribbean for a series against the West Indies, and Rohit took the opportunity to tease Kishan, who made his Test debut in the first game of the series just before turning 25.
During the press conference, Rohit was asked about the birthday present he gave to Kishan. In a playful response, Rohit mentioned that he didn’t declare the Indian innings until Kishan scored his first run, considering it as a special birthday gift for his Mumbai Indians and now India teammate.

Rohit’s humorous remarks brought laughter not only from the reporters but also from Kishan himself. The second Test match between India and the West Indies marked their 100th meeting in the longest format of the game.
The Indian skipper acknowledged the significance of the occasion and expressed his anticipation for an exciting contest, expecting the West Indies to bounce back after their defeat in the previous game.
“It’s an honor to be taking the Indian team into this game and it doesn’t happen every day. The two teams have so much history, so much good cricket played. I will expect no different in this Test. I am sure they (Windies) will bounce back, and it will be exciting for both teams,” Rohit Sharma said.
