In the ongoing ICC World Cup match between New Zealand and Bangladesh, Mushfiqur Rahim displayed exceptional batting skills, making it a tough challenge for the New Zealand bowlers to dismiss him. Matt Henry, however, rose to the occasion with a brilliant delivery. New Zealand made an impressive start with the ball as Trent Boult dismissed Litton Das on the very first ball of the match.

The partnership between Tanzid Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz showed some promise, but Lockie Ferguson’s quick double strike reduced Bangladesh to 56 for 3. Just as Bangladesh was trying to recover from the early blows, Glenn Phillips, a part-time spinner, added to their woes by removing Najmul Hossain Shanto for just 7 runs, leaving the score at 56 for 4 in the 13th over.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim, two of Bangladesh’s cricketing stalwarts, joined forces to stabilize the innings. Their partnership of 96 runs for the 5th wicket showed a blend of caution and aggression. However, the Kiwi bowlers managed to break this crucial partnership when Ferguson dismissed Shakib for 40. Soon after, Mushfiqur Rahim reached his fifty but was unable to convert it into a century. Matt Henry, in particular, displayed brilliance as he dismissed Rahim with an exceptional delivery.

Henry executed a slower off-cutter that deceived the Bangladesh veteran. The ball kept unusually low, catching Rahim off guard as he prepared for a pull shot. Rahim left the crease after scoring 66 runs off 75 balls, featuring 6 fours and 2 sixes.

At the end of the innings, Bangladesh only managed to reach the score of 245 for 9 in 50 overs. They eventually managed to reach a competitive total and will now be looking to return to their winning ways after their previous loss against South Africa. Meanwhile, New Zealand, who have won their first two games, aims to maintain their winning momentum in the tournament.
