The IPL 2024 game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was an intense and thrilling encounter. The Faf du Plessis-led RCB secured a decisive victory, clinching the final playoff spot with a commanding performance. Riding a six-match winning streak, RCB showcased aggressive and spirited play throughout CSK’s innings, celebrating each wicket with enthusiasm and displaying excellent fielding efforts.

A moment of controversy arose when the RCB players expressed dissatisfaction with an umpiring decision. The dispute centered around a no-ball call against Lockie Ferguson, which favoured Rachin Ravindra. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli argued that the wet ball, due to slippery conditions, was responsible for the no-ball.

This issue had been raised a few overs earlier, leading to a heated exchange. Even after du Plessis stepped away, Kohli continued to voice his concerns to the umpire, a move that drew criticism.

Former Australia great Matthew Hayden, who has been closely associated with CSK, criticized Kohli’s behavior. “There’s way too much interjection from Virat Kohli. He is not the captain and he should not be in those conversations with the umpire,” Hayden remarked during commentary.

Meanwhile, former India star batter Ambati Rayudu, who has played for franchises like CSK and Mumbai Indians, expressed his views on the upcoming IPL 2024 Eliminator between RCB and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Rayudu believes that RCB are the favourites going into this crucial match.

The Faf du Plessis-led team has turned their season around, winning six consecutive matches after a poor start. In contrast, RR’s recent washout against Kolkata Knight Riders dropped them to third place on the points table, potentially disrupting their momentum.

“RCB are clear favorites for me because of the way they are playing. They had a clinical game against CSK. For RR, I don’t know if this gap in play and the washout will help them going into an eliminator against an in-form RCB side. Every player in RCB knows his role well, so I believe RCB will advance to Qualifier 2,” Ambati Rayudu shared on Star Sports Cricket Live.
