The phrase “enjoy responsibly” isn’t just a catchphrase; it’s a crucial principle that everyone should follow, especially during celebrations. This was starkly highlighted just after India ended their 11-year wait for an ICC title with a thrilling seven-run win over South Africa in Barbados. However, the incident in question didn’t take place anywhere near Barbados. It occurred over 6500 kilometres away, in Queensbury, USA.
A man, in a bid to celebrate the victory, attempted to attach the Indian flag to a pole at the entrance of the Queensbury Underground Station. The scene quickly turned chaotic. Disturbing footage shared by The Sun revealed that as the man was affixing the flag, another person appeared to be assisting him. Suddenly, the man lost his grip and fell.
Around ten people standing on a circular platform below rushed to the edge, horrified as they saw him plummet into the crowd of cricket fans below. A spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service recounted that they received a call about the incident at Queensbury Station Parade in the evening.
