MS Dhoni, the legendary cricketer, recently met up with former India speedster Joginder Sharma after as many as 12 long years. Joginder, currently serving as the Deputy Superintendent of Police in Haryana, took to social media to share pictures of their meeting, driving the fans down memory lane. In the photos, Joginder is seen in his police uniform, while Dhoni has worn a T-shirt and black pants along with white sneakers.
He captioned his Instagram post with his feelings about the reunion. “It was nice to meet @mahi7781 after a very long time. The fun of meeting you after almost 12 years was different today.”
Joginder Sharma came into prominence during the first ever T20 World Cup in 2007, which was hosted by South Africa. The right-arm pacer played an important role in India’s campaign, especially in those high-stakes moments.

The 2007 T20 World Cup was the first big event where Dhoni was leading, and he had a young team at his disposal with the absence of stalwarts like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and Rahul Dravid. His leadership and the collective efforts of the team brought India its first major ICC trophy since the 1983 World Cup triumph under Kapil Dev.

Joginder had also turned out for Dhoni in CSK during the IPL. For India, Joginder played four T20Is and four ODIs, while turning out in 16 matches for CSK. The domestic circuit saw him have a decent career, where he played 77 first-class matches. He was an all-rounder and in first-class cricket scored 2,804 runs with five hundreds.
On February 3, 2023, Joginder Sharma declared his retirement from all formats of the international and domestic game. His reunion with Dhoni was a touching reminder of their shared history and all the memorable moments created in the cricket field.
