Anushka Sharma recently made a public appearance in Mumbai as she attended an event on parenting with her cricketer husband, Virat Kohli. At Slurrp Farm’s Yes Moms & Dads event, the actor had shared her take on the pressure to become “perfect parents”.For the uninitiated, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli got married on December 11, 2017. They have two kids; the names of their kids are Vamika and Akaay.
Concluding her address, Anushka Sharma added, “There is so much pressure to be this ‘perfect’ parent. But, let’s face it, we’re not perfect. We all have flaws, and that needs to be OK. That by admitting our flaws, we show our kids that perfection is not the goal, but authenticity is. If they see us make those mistakes and handle them with all tact and grace, it sets a realistic example for them to follow.

She explained how hard it is to socialize and keep the balance with parenting. “I find that I can only connect with people who understand this reality. Our social life often takes a back seat because our schedules are so different from others. People invite us to events, and I sometimes feel out of sync with their timing. It’s a balancing act, and sometimes you just got to let go of the social expectations so as not to put yourself through unnecessary stress.”

Anushka also reflected on her approach to teaching gratitude to her young daughter: “My daughter is still a lot younger, and I have come to realize that I won’t be able to preach to her. It’s about how we live our lives-showing our gratitude through our actions. Children learn from them. If we appreciate and show contentment, they too would mirror the same value. It’s about leading by example and enjoying their childhood, not stressing over every lesson.”
